KAA Leadership Initiative

Kids Across America’s mission is to build Christian leaders by encouraging, equipping, and empowering urban youth and their mentors through camping and education. To that end, we established the KAA Leadership Initiative that will forever empower and equip our next generation of Christian leaders.  Proverbs 9:9 calls us to “instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.”
We believe that every camper and camp staffer entering the KAA gates is a Christian leader awaiting his/her calling.

Kids Across America has identified two specific areas—Higher Ground and the KAA Leadership Staff—where young people have proven their abilities, work ethic and dedication.  We would like to help them continue flourishing and will walk alongside them for encouragement and accountability.

Higher Ground is a three-year program designed to instruct high school students in servant-leadership skills and principles that will allow them to become servants and leaders within their communities.

  • The KAA Leadership Initiative will underwrite costs associated with Higher Ground curriculum.

Higher Ground Campers are promising young people who are serious about their faith, serving Christ, and education.  Each year, as part of the KAA Leadership Initiative:

  • KAA will award two Higher Ground graduates with a $10,000 scholarship.

KAA Leadership Staff include men and women currently who have worked at least one year at camp and have proven their commitment to Christ and education.  Each year:

  • KAA will award worthy Leadership Staff members with a $5,000 scholarship.

The leaders are at KAA!  They just need encouraged, equipped, and empowered.

Create a Legacy of Leaders…
